Thank you Howden for organizing this Fitness event (the first event of this magnitude post Covid 19 lockdown), and special thanks to all the healthy applicants that participated!

Preforms & Closures

Did you know?
There are many steps in the production of a water bottle:
– First the PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is heated to 185°C and melted.
– This melted plastic is then injected into molds that define the shape and size of the so-called preforms. These preforms are the precursor of any water bottle and look somewhat like test tubes.
– At the water companies, these preforms are then re-heated and placed in bottle shaped blow molds, where high-pressured air inflates them to fill the molds and give them their final shape.
– This final bottle is then filled with water or soda, ready to be sold.
All manufacturing procedures of preform involve strict quality monitoring systems and controls as well as FDA-approval to meet high quality and health requirements.

Members of ENPI GROUP: FUTURE PLAST (UAE) and FUTURE PLUS (KSA) are both leading Preform and Closures suppliers in MENA region.

Food for thought:
PET bottles are extremely strong, colorless and the most lightweight option that exists today. If all plastic bottles used globally were made from glass instead, the additional carbon emissions would be equivalent to 22 large coal fired power plants producing enough electricity for a third of the UK.

History of Packaging

Packaging has always been part of our everyday life.
Created 3,500 BC, the first form of packaging was actually twigs, leaves and animal skin used to transport food. It then evolved to clay and them colored glass jars invented by the Egyptians 1,500 BC to transport liquids.
Napoleon Bonaparte played an important role in the history of packaging: he needed long lasting food to feed his soldiers on the far away battlefields, hence the invention of the tin can!
Interesting, but not really related to packaging, right?
From there, paper bags, cartons, cardboard boxes, followed by aluminiun and finally plastic were developed to enhance safe transport and longevity of goods and food.
ENPI GROUP is proud to cover a large spectrum of packaging options, from plates and cups, to preforms and closures, flexible packaging and labels or even food packaging and hygiene solutions. We have it all, a one stop shop for all your packaging needs!

ENPI: where Talent meets Diversity

Our people are the pillars of our success. At ENPI we offer you a career in a positive working environment that rewards your collaborative attitude. We support our people to take ownership and to continuously develop themselves as well as their skills.

ENPI sustainability practices

Reducing Carbon Footprint:
We implemented energy saving activities and continue to do so. Like shifting to LED lighting or reducing our paper board #packaging consumption while maximizing its volume to increase our dispatched capacity in each product transport, and other activities as planning to install solar panels that are under process.

Product Recyclability:
We keep our products 100% PET plastic #recyclable with highest recycling value. We tied up with a company where our high grade PET scrap is recycled 100%.

Partnership:
Together with clients we developed and produced the first transparent #biodegradable PLA water bottle in the Middle East made from 100% plant-based polymers.

Usage of Raw Materials:
We’re convincing our clients to use at least 25% rPET material along with prime resin. We are also in discussions with a local recycling company to provide FDA approved rPET for use in food grade applications.

Process Efficiency:
We use and acquire machineries from world-class suppliers that offer the most efficient technologies while reducing our waste output.

Coffee shops have banned the use of reusable coffee mugs. Some countries that previously had banned single use plastic bags and items have now lifted the ban.

Letter from the CEO on the COVID 19 crisis

Dear Partners and Colleagues,

As Covid 19 continues to impact the world in unimaginable ways, the situation in our region is changing daily. As new regulations are released by the hour, we continue to adapt to these ever-changing conditions, making sure our services remain uninterrupted and of the highest quality.  Now more than ever packaging is needed to keep your goods protected.

During my regular visiting at the sites, I am always very impressed with our employees’ commitment to ENPI.  I thank them wholeheartedly for their amazing resilience, and their willingness and ability to adapt to these difficult times. Together we will continue to fight for the well-being of our company while continuing to follow the health & safety guidelines, both at work and at home.

And although this highly dynamic environment is a challenge for all of us, there are some things that will stay the same:

• We are an important part of the regional food supply chain and we are determined to keep operating and serving our customers.

• With the preventive measures taken, we take care of the wellbeing of all colleagues. Again, please follow strictly the advice of our HSE colleagues.

• We fully comply with the regulations in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, while keeping our own system relevant processes intact.

• The task force team comprised of CEO, CFO, HR Director, Supply Chain Director and HSE (Health Safety Environment) Head is meeting daily and is in constant contact with the General Managers of all Business Units.

Our business remains strong and our market position in the packaging industry is solid.

I would like to ensure our customers and employees that ENPI is a safe and stable place to work with/in and together we will keep it that way.

Again, I thank you wholeheartedly for your trust and commitment to ENPI. I am convinced that we will come out of this difficult period an even stronger and more vibrant company.

Stay safe and best regards,
Best regards,
Tilman F. Ehret
